the data dot woudn't make them any harder to steal :)

ok, you need to think things through before saying the first thing that comes into your head :Imwifhim:

data dot technology reduces theft as the parts are easily identifiable as stolen, ie. if caught with them you are gone.......hence given a preference thieves who are stealing for parts will avoid cars they know have data dot........doesnt stop joyriders obviously though.

I think it would only reduce a specific type of theft, such as re-birthing. Not joyriding and other random thefts. Just like car alarms we become complaicent on the technology and the true effectiveness is in reality, limited.

:dontknow: prove it?

A couple of months ago a guy had his fully built t stolen from his driveway. There was the chap from broadbeach who got his herrod built gtp stolen just 3 days ago. Maybe these were just coincidental but there are pro car thieves that target performance cars.

I had mine stolen a few years back. I had it a week. Then a real estate agent brought some junkies thru the house for a look see. That night the car was gone!
