what about the wii? you can play bowling and all those sweet interactive games! heard they also have lawn bowls too now, for the oldies

Yep, go the Wii.

Xbox and Playstation are too serious.

Wii is so much more fun, especially for group play.

I used to enjoy yhr Wii, But I think I am just over it now.

You can only play the games so much. PS3 and Xbox you can go for hours. :)

You can get other games on Wii too you know! Many of the mainstream games that you can get lost in for hours/days/months, but most have a more interesting and involving way of controlling the game play. I am just over the multitude of complicated, multi-button commands needed for many Xbox/Playstation games. Although it is tempting to get an Xbox 360 just for Halo 3

BIGW's just advertised the XBOX 360 'Premium Console Plus' pack for $498. AND "Your choice of any XBOX 360 Game available in store."

:spoton:

Not so hard a decision anymore is it!!!

Anyone heard of the 'Premium' pack before? from what I can gather it's the 20gb hdd one, plus their giving a game too!?

seems too good to be true!!

Have you got the game on both consoles mate? I don't care if the xbox version runs at 1080, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing both version but IGN have and they have come to that conclusion. No disrespect but I'd rather take their word over yours...

There are plenty of comparisons on the net and the xbox version wins all of them.

The only game I have every played on a PS3 that has had to install anything (not including game sortware patches), is GTA IV, and apparently that was to load textures to minimise "pop in".

Yeah it installs to hd because the game constantly loads new data for the world environment as the player moves through it. On the PS3 it could not do it from the blu ray drive because it is too slow. Wonder why it takes so long to install games on the HD?

gta4 on ps3 is 1080p.

ps3 is the best blu-ray player being future proof via download updates and the recent update with DTS-HD MA just proves that now.

Plays all .avi so just download your tv shows (or porn) and play directly.

And hopefully we will also get what europe is or has got by now the add on DTV receiver turning it into a dtv recorder.

This console has and does pretty much everything and at $650 it is a cheap blu-ray player by itself.

Dont get me wrong though as I nearly bought an xbox because of the lack of games originally and I think the slow start was due to the fact that the code needed to write ps3 games is considered ridiculous but the possibilities are virtually limitless with it if the game makers would take the time, extremely long time!

Xbox is pretty much only a gaming system and good at nothing else. Sad but true.

Did I mention xbox Upscales to 1080p and does not play it natively, I can guarantee the difference is extremely noticeable.

Cheers,

Brett

yea, premium pack comes with wireless controller, component cables and the 20gb hdd. none of these come with the core pack. the hdd is the kicker, as the other bits can be sourced cheap from ebay, but the hdd is worth $100+ by itself.

No it isn't. It's 576P whereas the Xbox version is 720P.

True the ps3 does play blu ray but the xbox is a better media center overall. as a games machine the xbox has the larger and better library of titles

Did some reading and your right to a certain extent as most are claiming its actually 640p! not sure whether most tv's support this resolution or not and most may downscale to 576p.

I'm sure I read my nephews australian copy and it quotes 1080p on the packaging? I'll let you know what the uncensored overseas version says when it arrives soon but surely this is illegal printing a resolution it cant display as this is one of the key things I look for when buying a game?

I dont think I've seen a game for the ps3 with that piss poor resolution yet, very poor effort on rockstar's behalf if its true! farking choice game though.
