Personally I would go with the Xbox 360... The games for the 360 suit me more than than ones that are avaliable on the PS3.If you wont be using Blu-Ray, go with the 360..If your going to play Call of Duty 4, Get it for PC Its true that the PS3 has superior graphics than the 360, But they are still both stunning.I personally cant wait for the new Star Wars game, The Force Unleashed, It looks insane for both consoles, and I will most likely be buying the Xbox 360 for this game along with Halo 3..If I can think of anything else Ill post it up... Its a blueray player before anything else. The gaming and multimedia is just a bonus. If you were to buy a good Blueray player you would be spending at least $700 which is what you can pick up a PS3 for now with GT5 which is full HD.GT5 isn't 1080P, which is referred to as full HD. It is output at 1080P but is a scaled image which is around 1280X1080 resolution. There are very few games on the PS3 which run at 1080P native (in the console's framebuffer). Ridge racer 7 is one of these.PS3 is a good blu ray player however some consider it quite noisey in comparison with a stand alone player. As mentioned you really need a 1080P TV to see the benefits of Blu ray playback so consider this when purchasing. illusionzzz Member 180 Member For: 18y 10m 23d Posted 28/04/08 12:09 PM Share Posted 28/04/08 12:09 PM (edited) PS3. GT5 and METAL GEAR SOLID.Free online gaming. Plays Blu Ray movies... and is more future proof than the xbox 360, which still uses dvds. Even the creators of GTA IV have said xbox need to do something about only using dvds for games, as it severely limits game size (dvds are 9 gigs, blu ray is 50gigs). Someone along the lines was quoted as saying xbox will never use HD for games, and considering it is now a dead medium, they're probably right.Look into getting a 60gig PS3 from hong kong to save some dosh. Only major drawback is it will only play region free blu ray movies (about 60% of releases are region free). Not really a problem for me as I'll import all the movies I want to keep, probably cheaper too.It will play all games as they are region free. For example you can buy most new releases off ebay for about $70, as opposed to about $100 from aussie shops. As far as I've seen the extras that you can get for the xbox far out number the playstation. As stated they are both good consoles but I have to draw the favourite as the xbox, all I'm hanging for is the GTA 4 and the stars wars force unleashed they look awesome on both consolesturboknapp
