I`ve just bought an F6 had a few problems so far been back to ford twice since I bought it 3 weeks ago. Now I`ve noticed something else and thought I`d ask you guys before I go back to ford since your not paying the bill you wont tell me its normal when its not (fraud has already done it with the diff and then ended up replacing the crown and pinion).

Now the problem, when I turn the car off after it hasn't been running long ie 5 minutes or less the turbo continues to run and it sounds like a dodgy bearing, I`m a fitter by trade so I`ve got a fair bit of experience with bearings. I was thinking maybe if the bearing runs oil from the motor it might not be getting any flow to it coz of a blocked filter or something either way it doesn't sound good so any light on this situation would be good. the turbo spins for about 30 seconds after motor is turned off.

cheers matt

Its normal mate.

The turbo hasn't been running long enough to heat up to expand the bearings into it housings so they sound noisy.

If its noisy when hot you should be worried.

Cheers

I had a mechanic from a reputable performance shop check it out and he says its all good, my bearings are nice and tight and smooth, and its normal for them to run down after engine is turned off. According to him the oil pressure drops straight away, and since there is no oil pressure they make a small amount of noise.
