Guest da gurly Guests Posted 23/12/08 09:19 AM Share Posted 23/12/08 09:19 AM (edited) Hi....Sounds like saturday evening is taking preference at the moment.We can start at around 6pm and have a bbq going also.I guess it depends if we do a reduced mini grand prix (2hrs) or a mini grand prix (3hrs)say... get the bbq going around 5.30pm (to allow for the stragglers to come)... and start the heats at 6-6:30pmfinish around 9-10 depending which format we take.should be a good night out... will check to see if we can have beer with the Bar-B! (or maybe she is up to something else... hhhhmmm) heheheShe first wrote that there wouldn't be beers, but I told her that I think we can get the drinks flowing after, as long as we take it up to the club house and 'after' the races are over!So should be a good night! Just need to work out if its the Saturday or Friday, and when we can get on the track!Will keep the updates coming as we (she) knows more!Last GP I did for Topfield was about 2 yrs ago, and we took the boys from Domayne in Gosford for the day... Was MAD!!!! Except I got T boned by the dam store assistant manager cos he was pissed I was winning for the day... Ended up 2nd over all cos of the bastard!!! I'll get da gurly to try and scam us the 'corporate karts' as well, they are the 14HP karts, but with a little more tweeking then the std 14hp karts... gets up to around a 70kmh (from memory) top speed down the straight! Just need to tell the guys there that you have been karting with them before, otherwise you will need to start off in the 9hp karts!!! Its awesome, they will take us up for a training, briefing, and general chat... then the first heat, and second - reversed grid, and mixed starts, qualifying and then race 1, then reverse for race 2... (from memory)...All in all its a wicked day... and being at night the air will be that little bit cooler and all so much more fun!!!If you have a lid, make sure you bring it with you... gloves as well... Oh and the lid needs to be a full face... Da Gurly got in trouble last time for an open face lid... Soooooo can't wait... might actually need to get a few training sessions in before we go...
