Hey guys,

On the way home from work 6:00PM peak hour traffic, 19 degrees.

Anyway after 10mins driving, I go into limp home mode - gear selector flashing 'D' and the speedo doesn't work.

So I baby it home - another 10 mins - and turn the car off.

Start it again to put it away in the garage and the selector shows normal - I no limp home mode - mind you its was for 10 metres driving.

My question is this, what should I do.

I'm assuming I should get it checked out for fault codes, but should I drive the car - is it safe or will it go into LHM again?

What problems have you guys had that threw you into LHM?

Thanks,

Chris.

was it full limp mode I think the box locks itself in one gear and restricts power under these conditions

if it is are all your fluids good water ,oil ,lots can caurse this from engine overheat ,trans overheeat , water in something or just a ecu /sensor issue

I would be gettin it checked out though ,how far you need to go for a check up

All fluids are ok, engine temp (according to the gauge) was perfect, who knows about the temp of the trans.

I dont know if it was full Limp Home mode, It felt like it was limited to certain gears because take off was pretty horrible.

I'd probably get the codes red from a reputible place near by, anyone know where I should go around the waverley area... HPF are probably the closest.

I normally over the other side of the city, which I dont really feel is an option in this case

Mate - had this problem on my mums EFII years ago...

On the highway- hit a massive puddle of water and well it ripped out the GB sensor from under the car.

Being only a few years driving and having been one of the olds cars I was 5H1TTING myself.

Anyways - 35$, they put on a new sensor and plugged it back it...

Lucky in this case....

From what I understand it could be one of many things, small or major...

Just get it checked out at the nearest dealer and see what they come up with...

Had my brake warning light come on tonite on the way home from the car wash... not sure why, was braking ok think it might have just been some water- will check it out again tomorrow... anyways looks like the day for it!!!
