Still seems to drive fine in forward gears but thinking the box has given up after a month at 300+ lol. The car also feels down on power, could this be bacause of the slipping? Anyway, who in Melbourne builds or rebuilds a box to suit this power and what sort of coin am I looking at?Thanks Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/44823-4spd-auto-rebuild/ Share on other sites

Posted 24/04/08 08:32 AM Share Posted 24/04/08 08:32 AM Try Kewish or Preston Automatics. They're probably the top 2 goin around in Melb. I will get mind done from either one of those once my box decides to go. Expect between 2k-3k for a full rebuild to suit your pwr levels but get it confirmed with them first. Ive heard of them a few times. So basically id be looking 2-3k... that's more or less what I was expecting. If im paying for a rebuild would it hurt to keep driving it? It drives perfect in forward gears Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/44823-4spd-auto-rebuild/#findComment-664716 Share on other sites

Just down the road from HPF.You might find that one of the forward gears doesn't work. Mine lost reverse, second and fourth.Drive it in manual mode to check. If you don't feel it change when you ask it to with the shifter you've got a problem there aswell. Mine held on for 12 months with about 300 odd rwkw but as soon as I upped the power and torque to 340 + it gave up within a month.
