hey guys just wanting to know if getting a monza style IC is worth the hassles, because I already have an F6 IC. Also will there be any performance gains at all. At the moment im leaning against keeping it stock as im not planing on upping the boost or getting a tune anytime soon

lol @ monza

dont waste your coin, if you are gonna do it, do it properly! Especially if you arent going to up the boost anytime soon.

Wait until you are going to spend some dollars on a flash box and some injectors, then go a PW or Plazma front mount.

there are some great coolers on the market at a good price these days ,I am using a monza because I didn't want a really good cooler till I can afford to do the pipework ,plenum ,airbox this is the way to really make a cooler work properly so when you weigh up $3000 worth of gear compared to $400 , the monza has it's place ,as it does help cool better and it doesn't cost much, I am running 308rwkw at 12psi boost that's probably about it's limit

F6 or Monza(WOG) coolers are great value for money if you can get them cheaply. I have seen both F6 and Wog coolers sold second hand for under $250 and at that price they are a cheap upgrade for anyone wanting to upgrade their standand XR6Ts cooler. I wouldnt bother buying a Monza cooler as the performance gains over the F6 IC would be minimal. Save the coin and put it towards other mods.

Couldn't agree more, of course P/W, Rapids and Plazma's coolers are going to be a sh*t load better but there is a huge price difference and if your not going for big power I think 3 grand worth of cooler is abit over the top.

There have been lots of guy running wog coolers with over 300..

You can make 300 on a stock cooler for one run on the dyno........then intake temps go through the roof and the quick loss of power is quite dramatic.

With a quality cooler this is minimized. Also detonation is significantly reduced.

Cheap coolers are cheap for one reason.....They are sh*tE!

If you cant afford a decent cooler how are you going to afford the engine rebuild that might happen?

I would'nt reccommend using either,typhoon to 280rwklw Monza to 300 rwklw that's it!

Just REMEMBER astd cooler can make over 320rwklw on a dyno

Have to agree with all the above comments. Although even at 300rwkw the Monza cooler will still cop massive heat soak by the end of the run and your outright power will be limited due to the retardation of the ignition timing.

We tuned a F6 cooler and a Monza cooler equipped car on the same night. Intake temps seen were pretty bad, the Monza cooler faired a bee's dick better, but not enough to justify the expense in changing.

I know from experience when Danny was tuning my car with the wog cooler, the inlet temps were farken high as... Then I put it on a dyno a few weeks after, and the first run was at 240rwkw and by the time it was on the third run it went down to around 225rwkw, mind you it was a hot day which didnt help the little wog at all....

So basically no. It aint worth it....

Agreed. It's not worth the change. Stick with the F6 IC.

I haven't seen any official test results but I'm told the Monza cooler flows a lot compared to the stock XR6T cooler is just doesn't cool very well at all.
