Im with u on this one...

Not a huge fan of many little things with this car...

But im sure it will grow on me...

My biggest :wtf: hate is all the gray highlights on the front bars of the FPV range...

Im sure it would grow on me, but I went with the BF...

The interior isnt the best either and considering one spends there time inside the car when driving again went with the BF..

Again I'm sure it will grow on me but in the meantime BFII Rspec for me...

Waiting to get behind the wheel in June/July upon release of the FPV range...

:stickpoke:

I've seen them in the flesh now and don't like 'em. I'm just uninspired by the whole package.

Sorry Ford, I do loooove my BF MKII F6 R Spec , but when I'm done playin with it in a few yrs I won't be buyin' an FG.

Only thing I like on the FG is what they've done to the plumbing on the T, and the power they've given to the masses.

Hate the front end - they just don't look like a Ford, especially the headlight layout.

Back of it is almost spitting image of the back of a Subaru liberty.

It Looks like a mix of Toyota Aurion, Subaru, and Hyundai, with a smattering of holden (doors are straight of the VY, with Magna handles).

Interior in the XRlooks OK, but they've gone overboard with detail, and in the G series, that shiny black plastic looks like a Samsung TV - fingerprints, yuk! And the seats are exactly the same - still sit on them not in them (this they should have made better).

Overall the interior looks cheapish with Waaaay too many Little Buttons (how on earth you can operate that dash whilst driving - dangerous).

And it just looks too safe like a Toyota. The only guys that liked them at the launch I went to were the over 55's in their cardi's

I step back in my car and feel like I'm back at home in a real performance car.

I think Ford lost the looks from the BF XR's of what was contemporary Ford and copied too many elements from other cars to make it look more same same. Then at the other end of the spectrum theres Rocky racoon, It still looks stoopid, it just won't grow on me.

In the end I guess they had to make the FG more appealing to the masses to claw back lost sales, but unfortunately they've lost my vote.

I am baffled as to how u think the interior is cheapish. Youre dreaming. Wipe the Sydney smog from your sunglasses old chap.

Ive also sat in the FG XT and XR and found many of the minor issues with my BA are no longer present. Unquestionably a step up in quality/finish (Im not saying its BMW-league though, wallops BMW for value though). The quality of the plastics is about the same as in the BA, if not better. The dash has superior functionality. I agree with you on the buttons though, they didnt need that many.

As for your comments on the looks, its a subjective matter, I mainly see BA/BF influence, I am not seeing this aurion/Liberty influence, except a hint of Liberty in the arse end. So many people have said the FG isnt a radical depature enough from the BA and yet you claim it looks like an Aurion/etc?

They look pretty good. The comments from the knockers don't realy seam consistant to me.

As far as the interior goes, looks wise it is a massive improvement. The BF interior is cheap, nasty and ugly by comparison. And don't get me started on BMW interiors. In my opinion they are about the worst looking interiors going, they haven't changed interiro styling much since the 80s in those things.

No need to get all snippy and personal. It's just my opinion.

I'm not dreaming. I sat in every model, I found it over busy with buttons, cheap fake chrome and shiny black plastic. And that's my opinion. I'm entitled to it as are you.

Looking at its nose I see two big headlights on the inside and two little headlights on the outside - not very Ford, and I don't like it - and yes I think that looks more japanese-car styling than Fords tradional headlight layout. I happen to be a devout Ford fan, :spoton: and I don't like the way they have made the front end of this one. I don't expect you to see what I see, as you said it's subjective.

And by the way, I don't live anywhere near Sydney.

I live farther from the Sydney smoke than you do Ol' Chap! Canberra is the big smoke compared to the clear skies where I wake up every morning!

Assumptions will get you nowhere.

could get used to the body style although I don't like the way the rear doors have been squared up to the roof line ,

and at first look the interior looked good to me but then I sat in the car and seat position is all wrong you have spare room on the right of the seat ,and the huge center consol seems to come over the left of the seat which tends to push you off the right hand edge so you don't feel centered

might be fine for smaller folk ,I'm 6ft 100kg's and found it a bit uncomfortable ,my mate with me is 6'3 130kg's he had no chance ,he basically sat half way off the seat

I wasn't a big fan of the FG in the photo's but got to have a look at an XR6 (non turbo) at the local dealer last week and have to say I like them much better in the flesh. By my R-spec phoon is a few years old they should have all the kinks worked out ready for me to get a new FG F6!!!
