Well as the title says ive been hearing a slight rattle coming from the Sub. I pulled the parcel shelf off and pulled the sub out and discovered that the glue Panasonic use on the centre cap is either crap or they have not put enough glue on. Re glued and all sweeeeeeet.... Good Times :stirthepot:

Now a number of people have had problem with a "cracking" sub and before the sub was replaced in my car the old sub had a paper cone.

This one has a plastic cone and other than today ive NEVER had a problem with it. Its been in the car for about 2 years now

Now as I have it off ill supply the details written on the back of it.

This is exactly how it appears on the sub

Below the ford badge is:

5R29-18971-GA

3.4ohms (HOLE IN MIDDLE) 6307Q16

EAS20PL297A

Panasonic

Now I hope this helps

Robbo :innocent:

Just done a search on my ba workshop manual and the part number for the sub was/is 1R23-18971-GA so its different to the one in my car. So that would sugggest ford "fixed" the problem.

So if anyone has a sub problem make sure you ask for a sub with this part number 5R29-18971-GA

Ill shut up now

Good stuff mate... when mine started popping, it got launched in favour of a pair of JL 12s... the weight of the box is great for traction haha

there is a product called flowable silicon. it comes in a tube similar to ultra blue and all that. its neutral cure so safe to use on rubbers etc. just peel the rattly dust cap off and use a little of this silicon and stick it back on. will never come loose again.
