tmac450 Member 1,650 Member For: 18y 5m 12d Gender: Male Location: NSW Posted 20/04/08 11:04 PM Share Posted 20/04/08 11:04 PM The HJCs aren't too bad, they are actually the aorld's biggest helmet manufacturer, but they do have several quality levels.Keep an eye out for sales, the helmet mobs come out with new models each year, just like cars, and the superseded models can be found with huge discounts on offer (the only differences generally being colour schemes, etc).Generally most helmets from the $250.00 mark up are pretty good (many of the dearer ones are only dearer because of brand and exotic materials used). The dearer ones aren't always safer, thay're just lighter and longer lasting. Look at the full retail pricing as your guage, then try picking up a cheaper one on sale (I've seen $600 helmets sell fo as little as $200 in the sales, all because the colour scheme is different).All up, you should get the best helmet you can afford, don't buy an ice-cream container just because it's cheap.
