Just because a motor makes more power doesn't mean it has a better spread of power across the whole rev range. Pop them both on the dyno and look at the cruves compared to RPM. And it got up to 169 kmh at 1/4 compared to 167 for GTS. I thought it must have been due to traction but as has been said said 80-120 times suggest GT really is slower. Gear ratios aren't a factor either, as we are talking rwkW, meaning the power has already gone through the gear box.The rason is, Expensive Daewoo is big in V8s, and the mags won't let them be beaten by another 8.Ask yourself why the 290kw GT never got better times thant the 260kw XR8, why the 305kw GT was tested with slower times than the 390kw, why the new 290kw XR8 is not showing any huge improvements in times over the 260kw, and why the 315kW car is still not able to crack a 13.THE MAGS ARE FULL OF sh*t!!!!!!!For the Ts, they can easliy let them win, because Expensive Daewoo has no equal, and it is pretty obvious a force fed 6 will run good numbers. The GTS gets from 0-60 km/h in 2.8 secs, they quoted 0-60km/h for the GT of 3.8 secs (which I find hard to believe). The G6e turbo goes from 0-60km/h in 2.5 secs with the 245 rear tyres. Also, the GT's 315kw's is quoted on 95 ron fuel, the GTS's 317 is on 98 ron. I'm geussing the test GT had 98 ron fuel, or maybe it's just ford understating their kw numbers. BTW I'm referring to the June wheels. The typhoon may get quicker once it's run in. It's 150 odd kg's heavier than the xr6t (as with ba/bf), but I'm guessing the typhoons may have conservative tune ups to run the engine in, that or the engine is simply no better than the 270kw ford engine. Expensive Daewoo tend to quote spiked power figures, and generally always on 98.Your answer also shows how the mag figures don't add up. The turbo, with its much lower torque figures should have more trouble with traction on the 245 tyres.Only the strip or real lap times will tell us what these cars can actually do. Motor have always loved everything BMW produce anyway. As I'll keep saying til I'm blue in the face the mag times, are almost always slower for the badged cars, when compared to what people manage themselves, and compared to their times for other brands (as you prooved for me with the M3 time).Just because it is in a magazine, doesn't meant it's right (some of you on here treat what Wheels & Motor say as if it is Gospel). If this is the case, maybe New Idea is right, Princess Mary is the result of her mother's alien abduction, and has a fetish for human flesh. I find it hard to be neutral when looking at a car that is a competitor to the ones I sell...

Autos put the power down better than manuals! Test all 3 cars in auto form at a drag strip and we'll see how the results will stack up.
