Sometimes It Goes Harder?

Hi,

My XR6T, If I start it up in the garage, let it warm up for 10 minutes and then take it out for a drive...

The car just goes like a rocket, spools up so quickly, its an auto and has almost immediate boost off takeoff. Just a rocket ship. comes on boost super hard and super early too...

Then after driving it for a while, the car still goes as hard but spools up a little slower, off the mark acceleration isnt as good until boost comes on...

Im thinking... When I first drive it the car is fully warmed up so is it the heat soak that brings the car down to earth again? Or does the transmission heat up a little? Does the intercooler get a little hot and doesnt cool as well as it does starting it from cold. Maybe the oil heats up as well. Do all the pipes etc heat up and the heat causes a loss of response?

Does anyone have any definitive theory? what can be addressed to recoup all the crazy performance from startup...

I would say that it would be the heat factor unless your loosing alot of power.

I hope you drive it around softly for 15 before giving it a boot. Sitting it for 10min in the garage isnt necessairly that good as the motor runs for longer cold...

engine oil temp ,soon as the ecu picks up that the oil is getting hotter it starts taking timing out ,it's the timing you really notice down low , when it's gone the motor feels like a slug , recently fitted a trans temp gauge it's interesting to see what oil temp does, even in the trans average driving 130f spirited driving 150f , out right flogging 180f +

you will get the same effects on engine oil

In the colder morns on way to work my car hauls ass but in the arvo on the way home there is a warmer temp and it doesnt go as good
