Something that I was thinking about today, after purchasing 2 bottles of oil from Autobarn. Why is it, that the price of Crude oil has gone up exponentially, supposedly causing the petrol price rises over the years, yet the cost of a good quality motor oil has remained stagnant for years? I mean around the $70 -$80 range for 5 litres.

hmmmm?

would it have anything to do with the fact that good quality oil is synthetic? ie man made? not out of the ground? don't mean to sound like I'm taking the piss, but that's my guess

Here on the Goldy I fill up with E10 98 from an independant station every Tuesday night. This week I was horified to have to pay $1.39 Lt. the next day it went to $1.53. When will it ever end.

lol I saw diesel yesterday for 167.9..... and diesel tends to sit there too, even though unleaded fluctuates. Stupid smelly oily dirty fuel!

I filled my car up yesterday on my way home in Narwee, Caltex Vortex 98 was 150.9. Normal was 139.9.

Still cheaper than Canberra, normal unleaded is still 152.9.

Paid over 1.70 for BP98 when I went down south recently! Cost me over worked out it cost me about $25 per 100kms.

Diesel is sitting around $1.70 around perth to I think!

Still, im in front (in theory but doesnt seem it!). 2k a year to insure a WRX versus $880 for the taxi! Dont need to upgrade turbos or worry about gearboxes lol

With the long weekend coming, would suggest to fill up today or tomorrow at the latest.

They reckon standard will be $1.60, so I reckon it will hit the $1.70 for 98.
