Last night I paid a new record high of 169.9c/L for pump fuel in Sydney.

A tank top-up of 42L cost $71.36.

That means over $100 for a tank fill in the Ford.

Is anyone paying any higher in any capitol city?

This was for Shell V-Power Racing. I've been using this for the past 6 weeks, as my car is tuned for it for street/track use.

They've increased it 5 cents a litre in the past week. It seems Shell are slowly releasing it to outlets in Sydney, and several other guys last night told me they paid the same price at 2 other Shell locations.

Petrol was 144.9c/l here in A.C.T this morning on my way to work, that was just normal advertised price, no doubt it will jump by lunchtime....

I hear crude oil hit I think $120 a barrol overnight?

oh well, its still the cheapest form of entertainment around!

Yep, Yep, I paid that this morning for BP ultimate.

I paid $1.73 for V-Power Racing in the ACT last time we had a spike (a couple of months back) :surrenderwave:

Hey XRTPSI,

Had my F6 for about 2 months, and would say most of the juice that's been in it has been Caltex Vortex 98.

BP on the odd occasion, and well Shell in my area would know what high octane fuel was anymore - its been so long!!!

Havent had any problems with the Caltex... So give it a go!

Still bloody high and stupid fuel prices but doesnt seem that any amount of windging is helping anyone...

BTW - Shell is a funny one, heard a little 'roomer' that the V-Power was not out of stock/shortage due to refinery, but in fact they decided to cut the runs as it was costing a lot more to make then the E10, and standard unleaded. (Westfarmers had a play in this - stopped ordering it). They can just make more with E10 and ULP without driving prices up again...

As you may know Westfarmers bought Coles group, therefore the Shell outlets (not the refinery, but the outlets).

Have a look at what happened to LPG just after the buyout!

Was told this from a couple of regional fuel distys through out NSW and Vic over easter...

LPG went up 10cents over night after the buyout...

Makes one wonder..... is there truth behind this...
