I'll try and make this simple.

I love my car and only wash it with quality products. Never used anything but Maquires Gold class on my rims with hot water.

A couple of months ago I noticed one rim duller than the others so I went to Ford to ask the question about warranty. They agreed that it wasn't as bright as the rest and told me to book it in for their warranty boss to have a look. No dramas, it was booked for 2 weeks time to line up with my day of work.

Last Sunday us Perth people went for a cruise and the unthinkable happened and I bumped the curb as I was pulling into the parking spot and put some curb rash on it about 2 inched long on the rim. BUGGER!

The next day, it was booked to see the warranty boss about that rim. Anyway when I took it there you could see that I had just hit the rim as the Armoural was scuffed in that position. He agreed that the rim wasn't as bright , BUT as the rim was damaged it would not be covered by warranty.

I asked what has the scuff got to do with the rim being dull and showed him that it had happened the day before and pointed out to him the missing Armoural. He said that because the rim was damaged it would not be covered.

Does this sound right to you well informed people and should I just accept that? My car is nearly 2 years old and it in my opinion in very good nick without any scratches dents and other crap.

Any opinions would be appreciated good or bad. Cheers.

I would find it very hard to believe that ford would even consider replacing a wheel because of colour loss, if they did it would be a suprise

If the scuff is the one thing voiding warranty, get it fixed. Will cost about $50 and look like new.
