You can get them with, or fit thermostats to protect against that occurring yes?

I have a housing for a 2 litre Escort motor (never used) that is a sandwhich plate idea - goes in place of oil filter, and has a thermostat built in - when open - circulates through cooler and filter, when closed just goes through filter only.

I think... that the Falcon uses the same filter, so should fit. So.... I plan on using this and a cooler. However, not sure where the cooler will fit.

Yes the typhoon and R-spec have an oil cooler, but it is plumbed into the coolant and relies on the water coolant to cool the oil, which is inherently ineficient as it transfers the oil temp into the coolant, which is also marginal under extreme conditions.
