won't be worth it for detail, as it won't have 10x optical, it'll be mostly digital zoom and won't be good even at the 48megapixels as it'll be blurry AF. just get a traditional SLR camera if you need to take the highest detail and quality photos

I'm getting a p900 Nikon for Christmas so I can look at the moon.......

I did go to the website and read it. phone camera's just cannot get good enough for a professional grade. but if you only want it for reasonable photos, go nuts.

True. But I need quick. No time for macro lens. This image is taken with my Samsung Note 8 and it has 2 x optical  zoom.

Yes but I only need slightly better than this. Closer and I just use my microscopes then I can have 10-1000x.

Camera phones have come a long way. Happy with my note 8. Just want a bit more zoom.

indeed they have come a long way... the problem is they just don't have great detail due to physical limitations.
