Congratulations/Commiserations, whichever one applies :)

as long as you don't schedule your own wedding on the snowies cruise weekend, it's fine with us :P  (or do a senna_T and have the snowies cruise as part of the bachelor party and/or honeymoon :stirthepot:)

Nah, I mean the friend being there hasn't helped...but our communication styles/habits and love languages are so incredibly different I just don't really feel like I'm in a romantic relationship...and there's like zero passion now. Makes me feel quite lonely, which isn't a great feeling to have in a relationship.

So we get this email this morning about dress code, so I emailed HR back because I've seen staff get caught out before in the last place I worked, when Manglement decided they were customer facing because they dealt with staff.

The wording in the email is:

For example, on days when you’re working in the office and have no fixed meetings with stakeholders you might choose to wear casual dress. Whereas when you’re seeing clients/external stakeholders, you might think either business dress or a Company name polo is more appropriate.

I emailed back with:

Hello Dan,

Technically IT staff’s clients are the staff, so would it therefore mean we still stick to business dress and the work polo shirts?

That was two hours ago and I know he's read the email - the Server logs show it - and I bet he's going to come back with "Ask your Manager" because no-one's thought this through.

I'm on a roll with showing how little people plan in this place lately, I put one Mangler's nose out of joint a few weeks back when I stated that 95% of the work is done by the staff and the Mangler's get paid the extra to make the few hard decisions and sign off some paperwork.  I then followed up with, "Because I would really like to see how you go on the phones with customers."  Crickets after that comment, it was in front of staff too and no-one from HR has had a go at me because that would get back to the staff so fast the negative response would give the entire Manglement team whiplash.

People learn pretty quickly not to annoy David from IT in this place.
