screw buying somebody a present based on price.

Funny as the other day I was talking with a mate about overly expensive weddings and what not, he agreed then proceeded to tell me his wedding cost just over $51,000!

See, I don't get that. $51k for one farking day is ridiculous! I guess if you already own a house (outright) and can afford it, then go hard...but otherwise I can't help but think how many years that $50k would take off your mortgage, which would free up so many more options for later in life for you both to live it up! Or imagine the rad honeymoon you could have with $51k!!!!

My favourite 'wedding' that I've been to was where my friends went and signed all the paperwork, we all suited up and went to Little Creatures and got sh*t faced! They put on a bar tab and all up, including rings, their wedding cost them like $3k...and we all had a rad time!

Night shifts suck stripes. Used to do permanent ns for 5 years. That wasn't bad but I missed out on a social life.

Got a family so ns are harder now. Day arvo shifts are the best. Quickest 16 hours you can do.

I don't get the big flashy wedding. I hate going to them cause it's uncomfortable 99% of the time.

A good mate of mine just got married and it was by far the best one I've been too. Was laid back with plenty of booze. Can't remember much else lol!

that's like what my parents did!

and yeah that mate, he regretted spending so much but lives comfortably...with an 800K mortgage.
