Question. Does anyone know anything about dumping dirt on your own land?

As some might know a local farm said he'll take all my clean fill on his property.

I spoke with excavation bloke this morning and he said they are not allowed.

He said that the land owner needs council approval or a DA.

I thinks is total BS. What do you know.

Not sure about NSW but in QLD it depends on the quantity.

There is a self assessable code (meaning you go through a checklist and check compliance) up to a certain amount, beyond that you don't need to check.

It's about 4000m3 or 10000tonnes.

I rang the farmer this morning and told him all about it. He said he'll ring the council. He hasn't got back to me yet.

Either way if he can bonus for me but if not I've already paid for tipping.

Hoping to know more tomorrow.

Well all worked out well this morning.

I rang council and they told me that they can take the dirt but it cant go any higher than 1m. Sweet I asked about mass and that wasnt an problem, as long as it doesnt go over 1m.

I was happy and so was the farmer. win win for both.

Now time for a couple hours of sleep before kids get home from school. Havent been to sleep since 1pm yesterday.
