I have a meeting with my sparky when the time comes. Ive got a few extra lights that need to go inside and outside. x3 back up/Emergency lights had them in my old house worth every cent.

Ill see how much extra it will cost to run the extra coax and cat6.How much do you think it would cost? I have lined up a forum member to help out with cat6.

WIFI access point is a good idea house never though of that. Thanks.

Anything else anyone can think of that I should put in.

Security alarm - check.

CCTV - check.

we did a total house reno, and basically re-wired the whole house. cost $13500

put in cat 6 + coax to 4 rooms + foxtel cabling to 2 rooms with a central comms unit in the laundry.

in the study we had 3 of each and lounge we had 2 of each and still ran out of RJ45 ports!

moral of the story, put in twice as much as you think you need

When I moved the office/business to my house I had a mate come in and rewire network, phone and CCTV points throughout.

He still hasn't sent me a bill (10 months later)

Am hoping he doesn't see this thread - I gave him a slab

It's the universal currency for "mates rates"

If a job would be worth 2 slabs then they'd better be helping you with the work.

Lol beer is worth far more than real money.

Get mate with excavator and bobcat help you round the yard for a day = slab or around 40-60 bucks.

Cost to hire a contractor for a day with real money = ?????...alot of slabs?
