That is correct because the house isn't yours until they hand you the keys if you're doing it through a builder.

Doesnt matter they could be engaged by the principal contractor like any other contractor that works on your house, sounds like a ohmo exvuse to me. In any case it would still be easier to get the sparks to rough it in now. As long as you know either where the external termination point needs to be or where the satelite is going to be located roughly depending on if there is cable in the street.

Also ive seen optus and telstra do work on massive construction projects well before handover...

Pixy. You should be getting your sparky to run 2 x coax (quad shield) and 2 x cat 6e cables from each room to a comms cupboard or garage. Then run a few coax & cat 6e from that location into the roof (for fta aerial and in case of sat dish) and also to the eave close to where you could imagine them running aerials in from street.

While you are building you might also think of multi room audio and wifi access points. I've used Apple Airport express in each room which do both.

I have a meeting with my sparky when the time comes. Ive got a few extra lights that need to go inside and outside. x3 back up/Emergency lights had them in my old house worth every cent.

Ill see how much extra it will cost to run the extra coax and cat6.How much do you think it would cost? I have lined up a forum member to help out with cat6.

WIFI access point is a good idea house never though of that. Thanks.

Anything else anyone can think of that I should put in.

Security alarm - check.

CCTV - check.
