I think (and don't hold me to this) that if you log in via your phone Facebook knows your number. The updated Facebook app for phone allows you to call people via your Facebook friends list.

It also reads you phone book (contacts) and has the ability to copy it, and reads your email and messages, and knows your location - if your using a phone and have gps turned on, then precisely....

Next time there is an update for it on your phone, take the time to read all of the Permissions.

Who was it that called it "Stalkbook"?

It does have the ability to read contacts from your phone (if you enable it); emails and messages, I don't think so. It knows your location if you allow it to do so (by default this is on).

Facebook permissions on android and iPhone are different..

But yeah reading the permissions for some apps on adroid is a bit scary.. Though I'm led to believe that allowing the app access to 'incoming calls' etc is only to allow your phone to ring while the app is running most of the time..
