As posted last week, my dog broke through 2 gates and ran off during NYE fireworks last week. Paid a $42 pickup fee for him to get out. I received a letter today from the council saying "offence, dog astray or not securered properly in owners property". Also said its a first and final warning and if it happened again it was a $217 fine. What a load of fkn sh*t

Ffs. How is it a warning if the council make you pay the first time?

He had to pay a pickup fee, he wasnt fined for the infringement.

Kinda the same if you park illegally, and your car gets carted away. You would have to pay a tow fee. Plus also maybe a infringement.

If he was fined, id say he'd had to cough up $259

morning all

Im guessing it was not the only dog that was handed in or picked up. I think collection should be free given the circumstances of event

In saying that if the owners are aware what can/would happen on such event then more should be taken in preventing from this to happen.

This would happen all over Australia, even the world, hope wolfer is ok now freeze
