That's got nothing to do with your entitlement to overtime for the extra hours though. And the 'it can't be changed' thing sounds like complete horsesh*t, how did the extra hours get dropped off then if the pay clerk/whoever can't change the times?

This may help:

I believe that agreement is valid until next year http://www.sda.org.au/images/awards/award41.pdf

But anyway up to you obviously if you think it's worth pursuing or not. Just seems that someone is trying to pull the wool over your eyes and cover their butt.

If all else fails you can always just walk out and go on the dole like old mate above is suggesting.

Kimbo gave the best advice.. I am a strong believer that people shouldn't throw their job without trying every possible avenue first.. New jobs aren't as easy to get anymore..

But freeze tab is also right.. If they roster you for more then 144 hours or if they 'expect' you to work >144 hours in a 4 week period, you are entitled to overtime.. Alternately while not a great comparison it is similar circumstances.. Several staff at this company I work for aren't 'authorised' for overtime.. As such if they complete their required hours for the fortnight in 3 days.. They don't come in for the rest of the fortnight...

Have a quiet word to the boss man.. Don't make a scene.. Go to him with questions and concerns, not accusations and anger.. You'll be surprised with the difference in outcomes..

If you're clocking on and off they should be able to give you time in lieu at the very least. They can obviously see you're working back and it isn't just your word against your manager's. I would be speaking to Payroll/HR where you are or head office before going to Fair Work Australia or the union. You don't want to start a sh*t storm your your work unless you have first expended all other options and are prepared to walk. Getting FWA or the union involved in some circumstances will cause you more grief long term and they will end up making you leave by yourself via sh*t rosters crappy work etc.

Just to clarify I wasn't suggesting that you lodge a formal dispute with FWA, just to call them anonymously and ask for clarification on your entitlements.

Anyway plenty of free advice for you Freezer. Only you can make the call if it's worth pushing, otherwise Rukey will look forward to your next whinge at the very least. :original:

I pay $9 a week for the union and all they do is agree with the stupid changes the company is making. I don't even know why I pay for it. Ill look into it though, my boss at night is also gonna approach the boss about it also.

I wish I could just go on the dole at the moment, but ill rather find a proper job before I tell them to shove it. Also saving for a car and house so ill rather keep a steady wage atm
