Freeze dont go losing your job and livelihood off the bravado of others. But if I was you I would pick the right time to talk to your boss and politely state that's enough is enough. No more free work they are company rules not yours.

As a manager in a similar environment. You respect people approaching you politely and having a chat.

The manager most likely will get his ass kicked if people are working overtime as well. It will be in hhis KPI,s.

:stupid:

Words of wisdom from Kimbo.

Are the extra hours being banked/accrued? There is no way that they can just drop hours like that, don't just spit the dummy and walk away without trying to sort it out. If your manager is being a *beep* then go above him or to Fair Work Aust. and they'll be able to clarify - but first give him the opportunity to sort it out.

I think we've already covered the leave thing because you want to take time off during a period where they normally block out any leave is that correct? If so you are being unreasonable there, most places (especially retail/hospitality) will have the same conditions.

Extra hours are thrown away now. Doesn't go into holidays or time in loue. The max working time a week is 38h or 144h in a 4 week period for me. Anything over that is free pretty much as we're not aloud to do it in the first place, I never knew though.

Yeah I looked it up on the work computer tab, can't take leave 1st week of December till 2 weeks into January, 2 weeks of Easter and a week before or after stocktake. Yet there's already 7 people who have been approved by the previous boss for ny holidays.

Velocity, stickers are useless without a max unit to discount them and print them. We don't just write prices on them anymore

Just had a look at your EBA, the cap on hours falls under 'rostering principles'. Nowhere does it say that you shouldn't be paid for the full amount of hours that you actually work.

I'd say your manager is concerned at getting in the sh*t for allowing the agreement to be broken by not rostering properly. Don't back down, tell him you either expect to be paid for the extra hours or you'll work less and be paid for it in a future period to make up for it. If not then take it further.

As said before though, a new payroll system took place 2 weeks ago. If you fail to clock in or out you won't get paid for the entire shift. If your late you automatically get docked (she used to adjust it on the computer for this not to happen) and the admin lady or manager can't adjust shifts anymore. They changed it to keep honesty up and to make sure rosters are right. So if I'm stuck in traffic for 30 mins I will get docked 30mins even if I stay back 30mins to cover my loss.
