More asking the questions about QLD for a friend of mine.

Having lived on the northern part of north side for a while, we are certainly looking at moving southside.

Things have died over here, no one comes to Thursday night roast night anymore.

And can I have what dagas on please?

;)

Yeah but I'm 2 hours behind you so my last post was at 10.55pm.

As for being able to sleep, I find sex is very good.

After a bit of that I normally fall asleep very quickly.

Try that  :)

Calling all Queenslanders!

Can anyone give me some feedback on the Deception Bay area in QLD?

It is a bit hard to get a feel for the place when looking solely at a map.

Housing prices are substantially lower out there, and it is claimed to be 30mins from Brisbane.

Does it have amenities such as shopping centres?  Not interested in schools at all.  Mostly after hospitals, rehabilitation providers and convenient shopping at least for groceries.  Living across the road from "3" major shopping centres now is going to be hard to beat, so just a general idea if anyone is familiar with the area.

Weather: I know it is warmer and more humid up there, can anyone survive without aircon?  Does it get cold enough to warrant heating during winter?  How do you combat humidity and not get a very expensive electricity bill?  What are building regulations like as far as shed building?  I know some are dumb questions, but hey, I believe the dumbest question is the one not asked right?

I am looking for both pro's and con's of the Deception Bay area, and of QLD in general please.

Any advice muchly appreciated.

Cheers one and all,

Miss K

Firstly I don't won't wouldn't live anywhere near Deceptive Bay. To close to Redcliffe, stupid blinkin bridge to get back to the "mainland." Blonk lives there Shazzy you bottle blond, wong Scotty thweetie.

30 minutes to Bris in BCL's T ......... at midnight maybe, beaches are popular there, not sure about Rehab, Redcliffe hospital is of a fair size, but the main medical garb is in the city, so you can live a lot closer to the GPO than DB and be in nice surroundings. Building codes vary from shire to shire but sheds are all the rage where ever you may be.

The humidity will knock you socks off initially Aaron will be sweating more than normal and you will perspire more heavily LOL. Heating is not required, AC is still considered optional but certain areas require it as they don't get the cooling SE breezes like we do here in Victoria Point. I'm about to install two twin headed 24,000 btu AC units in our shack at about $1100 each but they won't be on except on still days. Solarhart hotwater is popular with our sunshine and with 5 bodies in our house requires very little electronic boosting

Hope some of this was of benefit.
