That's a much more recent example of bridges that wobbled after being built..

Least killing everyone on the bridge limits the number of people who are gonna bitch about it..

The most wobbly bridge I've dealt with was the main bridge out of gladstone in CQ.. That was nucking futs..

give me a franna and a railway sleeper and I'll show you how to make it dance :)

Is that at the power station SDP? Fixed by dropping the speed limit to 40km/h and installing speed humps...luckily it's a really quiet road. :spit:

Yeah it was.. Was dropped to one lane with speed humps and 40km/h initially..

It's been partially fixed..

Still got more work to go on it..

But yeah.. we stuck a cup of water in the dead lane to observe the wobblyness.. B-Double = Cup falling over..

:roflmbo:

Similar to a BOD

It's always been pretty ordinary anyway. Can remember being stuck on it in the old school bus a few decades ago and thinking we were going to get thrown off. Looking at the way the road on the mudflats there has moved around it's no surprise the fcker aint stable.

3/4 full of water..

Very technical..

Cup used when clear water bottle isn't available..

If water looks wobbly we consider paying to get proper testers in..

Should also add that we use very special tools for measuring water flow velocity.. Ping Pong balls and stop watch..

let me guess the next bit too....

when the water spills everywhere, you charge whoever the hell pays the bills a gazillion dollars to fix it?

how do you know the bridge is faulty?

well we use this highly calibrated instrument, and the bridge fell outside those allowable parameters....

Bucket of water and a high speed camera could save you thousands.

or fly me down and I'll measure it.

still like the franna and sleeper way the best
