So after the diploma your officially a builder? No card, licences?

after I finished I have to take my qualifications to the relevant state government (depending on what state I intend to build in) and get my builders licence...

that is only if I intend to build more than 2 properties in SA within a 2 year period for other people... I can build my own homes... one every 2 years without a builders licence as long as work is carried out by licensed trades people...

licence is just a formailty from what I can tell ... I could do the course through a builders association and get the licence all in one but its under $200 to apply for it on your own accord in SA or an extra $2000 to do the course through an independent place as opposed to tafe etc.

the course inst like a weekend thing freeze ,,, its 12 months for a cert 4 then 2 years for a diploma...

ive played around since I was a kid with building plans and crap it interests me on a weird level

must admit id like to one day maybe be a home designer/planner/ architect
