Less payout figures for the company I guess.. 4 weeks for some of these blokes is getting near 16 grand..

But they disguise it as a 'work/life' balance thing promoting 2 x 2 week holidays a year..

Plus it's a bitch when someone goes away for a long time and we have to take over their work..

I can see both sides of the coin in the argument.. As I said doesn't phase me too much.. I haven't been forced into leave yet.

All this talk of flexi time is making me a bit sad. Cnts.

But then there's no point me accruing it for the extra hours I do anyway, got 18 weeks already owing in annual and long service leave that I never get around to taking. :headbang2:

Bloody hell that's a good effort making LSL in the hospitality industry (you work in hospitality right?)... Never saw many people stick with the same employer more then a few years.

Yeah...have tried leaving a few times but am too much of a sucker. Will be a good little payout when the time comes though.

I ran Palmers on Hastings street for fifteen years. They went bust with my long service, and never paid any super. Hospitality sucks big ones for that

Luckily now the government has set up a scheme or something that reimburses people's owed leave and unpaid wages in event of bankruptcy.. Not sure about super though..

Still gotta wait weeks and weeks for it though.. So if you live week to week it's not an ideal situation to work for someone who might go bust.

Called GEERS. I went through it last year. Took us 8 months before we got any money and it screws with your next years tax return lol.

I control the purse so it's all good...super gets paid monthly and when I leave I'd probably process my termination pay too.

But yeah there are so many people that get fcked over with unpaid dues. One of our competitors (Rugby Club) went arse-up only recently and left behind allot of debt; employee entitlements, creditors, suckers paying for their wedding in advance and then finding out 48 hours beforehand that the front doors have been chained-up and nobody will answer their calls etc.

A few big name restaurants gone or going too. Fickle bloody industry to be in at the moment.
