900/week is pretty standard/average wage for a fully qualified sparky. Few more qualifications (Level 2 etc.) and you could land a job that pays a fair bit more than that. Hell, Integral 3rd year apprentices get 25/hour, nearly the base tradesman rate at my employment.

Makes me wish I went through that massive process to apply for an apprenticeship there. Doh.

900 p/w?

and here I am just a lowly forklift driver on 80k+ a year.

something is not right in all of this.

you guys would be better off not getting a trade and just go be sh*t kickers in a warehouse!

or you could always go work with daz for 180k a year!

$5.75ph. As first year. Back when bus tickets were 45c for 3hr. That was good cause I used to catch 2 buses and a train to get to work by 6am. Also had 1km walk in between.

Funny now seein housemates daughter complain cause she has a 30 min train ride to her $24ph child care job. By funny I mean I want to punch her in the face.

It's funny isn't it... And these days apprentices get their wages subsidized by the government to 3rd year equivalent anyways.. I started at 118 in my pocket a week.. Would work Sundays for extra cash.. But somehow always managed to afford my two bottle of Jim beam a week.. Admittedly I did drive a sh*tbox satria..

I started at Maccas when I was 15 on $5.49/ph. Was loving it when it increased after 6 months to $6.06

Worked my way up to crew trainer and was getting $13.90/ph, then went further up to assistant manager and was on salary which was paying about $14.10/ph. Neeedless to say after 3 months of that I went back to crew.. not worth the extra pressure and unpaid hours for another 20c... SInce then it's changed though, they get min of $24 an hour as shift assistant/assistant manager I believe.
