Oxygen thieves the lot of em Get yourselves a 3D topographical map of Sydney and surrounding areas, and you will see very quickly why the dams are placed where they are. Nothing to do with rain, more to do with the shape of the landscape (and having a centralised water supply system). Try building a dam across the parramatta river, making it big enough to supply 2 or so million households, and see how far you get. Now, if we had a decentralised water supply system...
