Hahah I just found a good story!

Random weather helps Underbelly sneak under the radar

Banned gangland series Underbelly has been beamed into some Victorian homes thanks to a quirk in the Earth's atmosphere.

The big budget Channel Nine drama that chronicles Melbourne's underworld war was slapped with a contempt ruling by Supreme Court Justice Betty King preventing its broadcast in Victoria last month.

But the judge didn't count on Mother Nature breaking the ruling, as atmospheric interference drew the signal from Tasmania's WIN Television across Bass Strait and into some homes on the Victorian west coast, in and around Geelong.

Residents along the Surf Coast reported being able to view Channel Nine programming, including Underbelly, as their televisions picked up the signal from the Apple Isle.

A network spokeswoman said there was nothing that could be done to stop the random natural phenomenon.

"It is very rare that Geelong gets Tasmania's signal. We call it atmospheric, fortuitous viewing. It is a freak and we can't do anything to stop it," she told Geelong's Advertiser.

Bootleg copies of Underbelly are doing a roaring trade at schools, hotels and even street corners at Victorians try to get their hands on the contraband spicy drama.
