Take this one for example, an MCU used in a product we developed many, many years ago. MCU released in 2009. Its old. But still in production. We used to pay ~$12AUD on a bad day for it. Copied directly (can't copy a table, changed format) from a quote from one of the only suppliers that have them in stock. Its taken us all week just to find 2 suppliers with genuine, in stock parts. Order QTY 116 Unit price $251USD UNNIT PRICE!??!?!? that's nearly $30kUSD for 116 chips.
