well... so what's good about it? fuel efficient, I guess... can rev it hard and not break the speed limit? :stirthepot:

It uses an average of 8l/100, it has a cranking old ass aftermarket stereo, tinted windows, sunroof, massive boot space, 5 seats although a 2 door, ice cold aircon, handles awesome, stock rev limit is 6750 and loves it, cruises at the hwy limit and then some...top speed is higher than most old cars, and is getting to be one of the iconic classics, as it ticks over 30yo next year.

Haha also paid $300 for it cos no one could diagnose it, but it's in great condition for the age :roflmbo:

haha fair enough; can't complain with that sort of simplicity and the cheap sort of outcome... how much did you spend diagnosing it? and what was the fault, out of interest?

Yeah man it's clean, has character and is nice for the era. Haha so I spent a couple of hours on the internet to work stuff out, paid $80 for a new main relay which is just two relays in one and that solved the running/starting problems. I chucked 4 new tyres on for $38 each as the old ones were mismatched although serviceable, various service items such as oil, filter, fuel filter and pump, trans fluid, a couple of globes, the usual new to you car stuff and rego.

All up was the cheapest car I've bought for years...and the most reliable lol :yikes:

yeah, cheap and reliable always means it's not fast :P

great result realistically... obviously the person who sold it to you didn't have much mechanical knowledge.

The guy who sold it has multiple workshops around Australia and is where you would go to get your 4x4 tuned for the most part. Another workshop couldn't solve it either and I bought it as is, not running.

It goes alright but you can't shift to first manually as is not on the shifter, so it can be a slug around 40kph if it gets stuck in second, even though it'll pull to 60 in first. From the line to top speed it is as fast as a na barra or 90's commodore.

To sum it up it, isn't fast but is not disappointingly slow :)
