Is Shannon's car insurance as good as people make it out to be? I called them about a year ago, the bloke on the phone was really really friendly, he told me to come back when I'm 25 because my monthly repayments at that time were stupidly high through them. I rang them for a quote and they were double for the same replacement value as any other quotes. If you have a classic car that the value is not fully comprehended by other insurances systems, then yes. for anything new that’s not a hyper or super car then places like AAMI still insure for agreed value with modifications. EDIT: I know this coz I just changed all our policies over to another insurer when we got the new car so it’s recent. I found them much better recently than when I was early 30s and in my 20s their quotes were ridiculous.Have both cars with them now and about 20% cheaper than AAMI.Had always loved AAMI but their service has really gone downhill. They were useless with the Kluger claim - conflicting information about where the car was, took ages to assess, had a bug in their system that kept reapplying the excess even though we weren't at fault. Haven't claimed with Shannon's though so I guess you don't really find out what they are like until you need them.

I'm with RAC atm, but to keep my insurance costs down I put my dad as a main driver as well as myself. I was was 22 (ish, 22.5 lol) when I got the car, and for me to insure the car alone was going to cost like 1400-1500 a year. I've wanted to re-insure the car for a while because the agreed value at the time was maxed at $16,500 and I wasn't really happy with that. Checking it through RACs quote system now I can have a max agreed value of 20k! If I do so, my monthly payments rise from $86 to $95. Well worth it imo. The only issue, I don't think RAC takes kindly to modified cars, I could be wrong though.

To deal with this you take all the mods out before assessment then you just re-install the mods #dodgybros
