Tell him to stick with it until he sells up for a more powerful car. morning all, happy Wednesday

Never had issues with it He sold it and got a mk2 fg turbo, I imagine your neighbour will do something similar. +1 what @k31th said!

Talked about garrett, aeroflow, and pulsar turbos for a bit seeing as I've been looking into upgrading mine. Cut a long story short, I'm getting a pulsar when the time comes 😂 Cut down version of what he said: Garrett turbos are better performing than the pulsars, but they've risen to stupidly high prices and don't even offer a direct bolt on replacement turbo for xr6's (yes he mentioned the supercores they offer). He said you can't beat the fact that pulsar offer a direct bolt-on replacement turbo, complete with all the brackets and ported wastegate and its less than $1k delivered. He said "never expect a pulsar to perform better or the same compared to the garrett though, prepare for disappointment if you do". He's tuned 6 of them so far, with heaps more getting in the works, hasn't had any drama with them. Really, really hoping garrett sorts their sh*t out with the pricing of their turbos. The market is getting some really strong competition and I suspect it'll keep going that way. Like, c'mon a gen 2 3582 is over $3.5k ffs!!

Rob recommended that if I want to get a built tailshaft that I get a spare done because it can take the shop up to a week to do - depending on how busy they are. He said he usually has some laying around for this but sadly had none. So Tuesday night get on to FB marketplace, I find nothing for a reasonable price. There were two for sale at high prices with completely toast bearings and looked like they'd been sitting for 5 years in a field. Get onto a perth Falcon page to ask around, got a bloke saying to message a parts place wed morning to see if he has stock, shop called Nukoop. Scored a mint tailshaft, bit rusty but the centre bearing looked newer than mine! Cost me $150 and a near 3hr round trip to get it! Dropped it off at a shop called DBS Total Driveline Solutions, a place Rob recommended. Quoted $840 for a chrome moly retube and heavier duty centre bearing. Turn-around time atm is about 4 days and the car is booked in for a service and other bits and bobs on the 28th, so heaps of time to get it done! With the lower control arms, radius arms, new shaft and coupler, I'm hoping the car won't feel like an absolute pig to drive any more. So fkn clunky atm. Crazy how quickly you can spend nearly 2k on parts and not get any performance out of it 😳😂

Mine doesn't circlips, its pressed. So replacing the centre bearing would be around (total educated guess) $500 parts and labour. Even more (Over $1k) in the eyes of nuford too! Would much rather put that money into a better tailshaft Be silly not to imo, especially having the piece of mind knowing it will handle a bit more power when I eventually go down that route. Less chance snapping at the drags too. Seen that happen to stock shafts
