Nah they need high comp, a decent cam, headers, exhaust and a tune at a minimum to go alright.

 

I've had a couple of stock efi 5.0's and one done up one. They are pretty dismal when they are stock.

Its a nice one but they were rubbish. I had a VH group 3 back then, threw out the 308 and dropped in a 400HP 350 chev and a 9 inch, was killa in the day...

 

And this was totally LAME. drove one and laughed.

They were "Tuff" back then.

 

Early 2k's we got stuck with plastic cars and dealer special 185kw's as the new hotness.

 

15 second 1/4 as a selling point?

 

Our mums drive more potent beasts than that these days.

 

Took 40+ years, but we finally got to the stage where our decent cars weren't slugs compared to what we grew up with when dad was driving.
