I've got a gas heater with a cable that runs under the house and up the wall to the controller, but I want to move the controller. There is a light switch above it and a light switch near where I want to put it. So I'm thinking that instead of running it up the wall from under the floor in the new location requiring me to somehow drill through the horizontal stud in the wall, I could extend the cable into the roof space and run it back down the wall in the new location. Existing light switches should mean no drilling and all I need is longer wiring. The connection to the controller is RJ12 so would it be as simple as just getting an RJ12 extension lead (male to female) to run the extra length? Or am I over-simplifying it?
