Hey Keify, saw your gym progress in the lifting thread, good stuff man - keep it up. Erm, things are ok. Some stressful sh*t going on with the missus atm (she's not preggars and it's not relationship dramas or anything in our control, just to clarify)...so I'm actually rather average... 1 minute ago, ROB83R said: 16 hour shifts are where it's at Dan some teachers wouldn't know a hard days work if it bit them in the arse. 16 hour shift can eat a big bag of dicks, Rob! 1 minute ago, Rab said: Don't get me wrong - I think (most) teachers do a great job and it can't be easy, but damn, they get like 3 months off a year and some act like they're deserving of more. Oh yeah, I wouldn't want to be a teacher...but I find it amusing when them complain about how much they have to work. The job itself may be intense...but in terms of sheer hours, pfft!

Posted 27/10/16 02:21 AM Share Posted 27/10/16 02:21 AM Two years ago our HR Manager went on the warpath as some staff had over 40 days.So my boss at the time who wasn't fussed pointed out that I'm the only staff facing IT person so what did he want want as I couldn't take 2+ months off to get me down to 20 days.I ended up having the whole of March off & every Friday until the end of October. What I liked the best is after our fortnightly Thursday patch nights, I wasn't the little black duck dealing with the inevitable I <3 Bananas ups becase the Developers changed things. I started there January 12, 2004 & finished February 5, 2010 (funny how some dates stick in your mind, although it does help that the finish date is my birthday) & I had 93 days annual leave owing which equated to a total payout of just over $13, 000 all up. I'll give them this but, kids these days are arseholes compared to generations passed. No respect is given these days. That would be hard to deal with. I can't believe how many assaults are happening against teachers these days: https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/wa/a/33005180/pupil-15-pushes-hits-teacher/#page1 Not only have there been other incidents at the same school according to the story but there was a brawl too: The Education Department posted security guards at the school this year after a brawl between students and parents erupted in the school carpark. More than 20 people threw punches and yelled abuse during the melee on May 31, which was broken up by police. Seriously WTF is going on, maybe it's time parents started getting charged for their kids behaviour, although someone will argue that kids have more rights than parents if they try smack the little darling. Their hands are tied literally. You have to cop it with a smile on your face or you're the bad guy. It's bullsh*t! Kids these days need a good flogging closely followed by their parents.
