f*cking lol everyone raves on about how awesome Melbourne is and how sh*t Perth is.....interesting to see someone disagree for once :P

Melbourne is great for culture, class and things to do. Just providing you are willing to do it in all weather types, within hours.

Perth is pretty, amazing weather, and laid back in comparison. But lacking infrastructure, design and has had a bit of a negative influence (IMHO) from Cub's and the like.

Would be living in Melbourne or surrounding districts if it wasn't for my partner

I'm not saying Perth is the be-all and end-all either. To me Melbourne felt older and more run-down compared to Perth. If "culture" is your thing, then rad...for me, meh. Agreed that Perth has been ruined by CUB's and the like though.

I'd live in Vancouver in a heartbeat. Favourite city I've visited so far. Modern city, great infrastructure, by the water, short drive to go snowboarding, gorgeous lanscape, cost of living (housing aside) is pretty good.
