Foxtel are crap when it come to stuff like that. When we moved into the in-laws I told the tech block we're building a new house and when its time ill call give him a call back so he could run the gables before the walls go up.

He words that no they're not allowed and told me that I would have to get it done myself just need to pay our electrician to do it. He said cost not 100% but somewhere around $1000-$1500.

Really? Why its just easier for you to do it whilst the walls ant done. Nope not allowed. I then told him then ill just leave it and call you when the house is finished, Good luck with that because some areas of the roof are very small not even a kid will fit.

See you then mate.

On another note, Top of the morning to ya all.

I would get the sparks to do it while he/she is roughing in. Shouldnt be much extra at all. Foxtel will just smash surface conjuit down the side of your coz muppets.

This was optus but same attitude: Got a mate who renoed a oldish weather board home, had a heap of surface conduit down the side of the house when he moved in. Removed it all (hes a spark), putty the wall and paint. Optus come in to install internet while hes at work just the missus home...have a guess where and how the cable was ran....

Foxtel are not a cabling company. They're not going to cable your house. The most they'll do is run a coax or two from your satellite/cable connection point that's already wired into your property to the actual Foxtel equipment. Most often they'll do even less than that and only install a wall plate :P

You're just hurting yourself if you build a house and don't get the wiring pre-installed by a sparky.

That is correct because the house isn't yours until they hand you the keys if you're doing it through a builder.
