Thread needs more chat. Used to be lots more regular discussing of all the things in here...so who's got a great idea for a legitimately interesting topic of discussion?

As an aside, hump day yesterday so 3 more nights then back to Perth for me. Was supposed to be going to Broome this break for Mum's 60th, but apparently my Nonna isn't in a great way so there's talk of postponing the trip...which to be honest I'm in favour of. I'd rather be there for my Nonna, but also means I'll be around for a good friends bucks night...and no doubt severely hungover for mum's 60th lol.

Thought Adelaide was country?

I moved from Sydney down to "Gods Country " , the glorious South Coast 15 years ago and haven't looked back.

Although I'm on the fringes of what is considered a Metro area, after living in that Sydney rat race I can guarantee I'll never go back.

If anything I'd go more country.

The only thing that holds me back from going full country are the kids and their future.

Get out of the city and into the country, best thing you'll ever do, just make sure if you've got young kids that your reasonably close to a regional centre with all of the facilities eg, good schools, hospitals, TAFEs, Uni's etc.

I sometimes wonder, with all the potential redundancy going on at work and in the industry at the moment, if a redundancy and some change might do me good. Problem is I've been pretty frivolous since I finished uni (4 years now) and have little more than toys to show for it. Granted, if I sold all my sh*t and got a redundancy I could probably live cheaply for a couple of years...but then I'd have nothing to show for it. Life would be simpler though, just go live somewhere cheap down south, learn how to surf and work at a bakery or some sh*t just to earn some pocket money. Would be a much less stressful life...but I just don't think I could bring myself to do it. I think if I did get made redundant I'd be tempted to sell up and go be a snow bum in Canada for a while...that'd be fun.

If your young and capable of earning good coin (Stripes), then grab it with both hands.

I've just turned 50 and am slowly backing off only now.

Young people are in too much of a rush these days too "have it all ".

Invest 10% of your earnings, weather it be shares, properties etc.

The person I was at 20 something is pretty much the same person I am at 50, same hobbies, dreams and interests.

I'm just a lot wiser that's all.

You have plenty of time up your sleeve, so travel, smell the roses and kick back, BUT...... Just try and save a little for the future and the rest will take care of itself

Yeah, I hear ya man. I do wish I'd saved a bit more over the last 4 years...instead I took it for granted that I earn good money and just bought sh*t. Plan is to spend the next 6 months paying off my debt and then hit the savings hardcore, with a bit more travelling in the mix. Looking at heading back to Japan again for a snowboarding trip this time next year....gonna be siiiiiick!

I would still love to do an EL XR6 Turbo build at some point though...I've always had a big thing for the EL's and I reckon that'd be rad!
