Fairly sure that Australian law says that you don't need permission to record a suspected crime or crime in progress.

Someone with more 'first hand' knowledge of this will better answer

The act is pretty clear on it, if you don't have approval from an officer of the court or the minister to covertly record (visible or not, not telling them is covert) it's not admissible.

Even though this quote is from the NSW section of lawstuff.org.au, It was always my understanding that this is law in all states and teritories.

Very happy to be proven wrong -- as I am most of the time.

Can someone take a photo/video of me and post it online without my permission?

Ultimately the answer depends on who is taking the photo/video, where is it being taken, and for what purpose is the photo/video being used.

  • There are no laws that stop someone taking your photo/video in a public place and then posting it online.
  • There are no laws that stop someone posting photos/ videos of you taken from a public location, even when you are on private property. So someone can post a photo of you in your home or garden as long as it was taken from the public footpath. Similarly, there are no laws that stop people posting photos of you taken from property they have permission to be on (such as their private property), even when you are on private property.
  • There are laws that prevent people entering privately owned property without permission. This means that the owner of private property can take legal action to punish people taking photos/ videos after entering their property without permission, and in some cases may be able to stop the person using or posting the photos/ videos taken.
  • There are some places where permission is needed before any photos/ videos can be taken. These places include museums, galleries, sporting arenas and airports.
  • If a large business takes a photo/video of you for a commercial purpose (like an advertisement) and you are identifiable in the photo/video they must get your permission to use or post the image online

Therefore I thought that because of this, if a crime is committed, it can be used by the court..

Morning all

I have already seen the GM and he has a copy. Im waiting on the GM to call me back ill wait and see what they do and come to the party.

If not publish to social media/youtube and pass onto local police but ATM im happy and sure that the GM will take care of it because Im sure that the owner will not want this out. So im hoping it wont get to that stage.

The GM seemed like a alright person, very pi55ed off and dont blame him. Ill wait for the call but wont wait long.

Pixy , hold your ground as best you can and negotiate within reason.

The farkers wil try to worm it out .Legal action you lose financially

You do have leverage don't overplay it IMO. I had a major issue with

a pie fetcher smoking the clutch on Ole Yella so much that it started slipping

on me straight after getting it back from a dealer service. Racked up 130 k test drive

rubber under the guards instant fuel through the roof. Smoked rubber smell reeked

in the cabin.

Don't worry we can reflash it to nullify the computer anomaly and that will be $5 500

for a new clutch as not covered by warranty due to driver abuse

That's when jules got quite fierce and the fight started with the dealer principal.

It was only the threat to pull a pretty much 20+ cars a year and servicing on the

said vehicles that he changed his tune. Until then talked to me like I was doggy doo doo.

His service people were beyond reproach. Just an ECU glitch. Bull farkin sh*t

Farkers

Dale Ford Chullora . Not slandering them they can sue if they wish

.

I think ive done the right thing by seeing the GM first and let him deal with it and come to the party.

I could of just gone straight for the jugular and leak this out locally and to Ford and give the footage to local police.

The GM took my number down and will ring me back. Ill wait but wont be waiting long Im hoping they do the right thing.

Ill keep everyone posted.
