In my experience (from watching Air Crash Investigation) when a Plane breaks up at high altitude like that lighter/more fragile items tend to find their way to the ground relatively intact.It also looks (from the very grusome footage on liveleak) that larges portions of the plane hit the ground and didn't catch fire. They showed on the telly what closely looked like a wing - the majority of fuel is stored in the wings, so she broke mid air from what it appears. If it exploded on impact with the ground, that wing would be just a molten mess.passports or no passports, 295 people, including 27 aussies is not a good thing.
