It's f*cking unbelievable.. Imagine if she had our little fella in the car..

Maybe I'm just over reacting but if there is something that wrong with the car you generally stop and at least walk around checking the tyres..

My tolerance level for the amount of general crap my missus has in her car has decreased since our son turned up.

The last thing I want is him coping a 600ml water bottle to the head in a minor collision.

I have tried to explain this to my wife numerous times but I might as well try and tell her synthetic oil causes cam wear.

600ml water doing more damage than the minor collision itself...

EDIT: I like how the word filter stops applying when you quote NHASP's post. lol

What sort of car Panda? If modern then surely ABS/stability/whatever would be going off its tits too?

There was a dumb mole in a porsche cayenne driving along creek street in peak hour here with a flat a few weeks back and the sound coming from it was unbelievable. Even a pedestrian was trying to tell her there was an issue when pulled up at the lights but she just ignored him and took off like a fckn maniac when the lights changed. Fck knows how far she was going but the rubber was starting to shred at that point.

Scary

Wow NHASP, that's pretty bad...partially hilarious, given the fact she attributed it to cold weather, but sucks hardcore about the tyre/rim.

Its all replaceable.. But again if that stupidity is applied with the little guy in the car.. Sheesh..

and I agree with ralph.. used to look like the wife lived in her freaking car.. now with the little guy I have zero tolerance for flying objects in accidents. especially given how much more susceptible a kid is compared to us..

I spend alot of time reading and studying road accidents with work.. And if she had of left the road chances of flipping would have been way higher given an out of whack centre of gravity.

I can't imagine the noise it would have been making tab.. or the effort required to hold it straight.. gonna make her drop the whole thing into the dealership when the replacement rim arrives to make sure nothing else is out of whack.. Though depending on the price of the replacement rim I might be getting 4 rims and tyres.. stick some bright red racing rims from ozzy tyres on the thing just as a constant reminder of her stupidity..

general rule of thumb if putting a brand new tyre on a car with 23,000kms.. Make sure the new one is on the back? or suck it up and buy 2 new tyres? soft roader x-trail.. it hasn't been in 4wd since the day we picked it up and he showed us how to put it in 4wd..
