Your points need a bit of validity. The coalition are looking at up to 100mb using VDSL etc. at this point in time, new technology means this will keep getting better, and the top speeds that the govt has been boasting about cost $30k per month or something stupid...yeah I can see plenty of households going for that.

So what's the basis for your 1/30th of the speed point?

And there is absolutely no way possible that the NBN in its current form can be built for the price they claim, no expert anywhere will vouch for it, so there's more than a slight difference in price.

I have nothing at the moment.. no copper or fibre. Hopefully whoever wins doesn't forget about my area.

Nbn is a waste of money. Ruddy just spends spends spends.

You could go and take out a loan tomorrow and buy a Ferrari but how long before you get over it?

Think about that

Vote a secondary party in as option one. Send a message to the big two.

Unless you live in an area with a strong independent that is a waste of a vote. With preference deals you end up voting for one of the two major parties anyway. Letting someone else determine who you should vote for IMHO is bullsh*t and the reason we've had to put up with a weak minority government for the last term.

If I could smack the ingrate who sold out his electorate and who called the last term of government a "beautiful ugliness" I'd be a national hero.

Last reply so we can get this back to off topic haha.

The quoted speeds I've seen are 1000/100 labor and 25/5 coalition download/upload until 2020. That's where my rough figures were coming from.

Technology advancing or not, doesn't change the fact that copper simply isn't up to the task of those speeds.

Maybe I haven't looked into it enough, I haven't dug to confirm those numbers at all.

As for costing, you're probably more in the know about that than me it seems.

The way I see it, it's decided we are going to have to go with one of them anyway regardless of cost, may as well go with the one that will be more future orientated and actually a decent improvement to the speeds already available to alot of australia.

As I said, it's only my opinion not trying to say you're wrong about anything!

Understood and agreed. But you cost them money. Both major parties are cocks. One will put us in more debt and one will balance the ledger. Gonna hurt though.
