Troy was a good flick. Surprised me for a Hollywood production. It was actually reasonably close to the original story, and continued to entertain throughout its length.

Went and saw "Day after Tomorrow" lsst Saturday. disappointed.

Unlike Troy, it is a typical Hollywood production. Lots of effects, but with huge holes in the believability stakes.

Reasonable sci-fi future scenario to try and shock us into caring about environment, but please.... try and keep a bit of realism.

Even Dumb and Dumber fans know you can't touch a steel rail with bare skin and NOT get stuck!

Except for the minor detail of Hollywood condensing 20 years into 2-3 days...

I know,

Also I believe Helan was actually put in a spell by Aphrodite, to fall in love with Paris . Her husband, King Menalaus doesn't die in Troy, but actually rescues Helan and takes her home after the 20 year war.

Even so, I thought Hollywood did a good job in providing an entertaining epic. At least the story flowed quite well and was full of great scenery.

A couple of times I had to nudge my wife, for her to pick her jaw up and wipe the saliva which had dribbled from watching Brad do his thing woithout his loin cloth...

'hoon, save your money and wait till it comes out on video.
