A basics modem has 54Mbps, if u are on ADSL2+ the absolute max u would get is 20Mbps. Most ppl get around the 3-6 mark. Plus if u are serious about networking u would only use cables. Wireless can only transmit 1 way. It can't upload and download at the same time. So I say just buy a basic modem from any of the usual shops.
